3rd District Council Member Zanthia Oliver sponsors “Light Up the Eastside” Event in Partnership with East Side Civic Association and The HELP Initiative, Inc.
Over 300 Energy Efficient LED Lights to be installed to Reduce Criminal Activity and Energy Consumption
On Wednesday, September 15, 2021, Council Member Zanthia Oliver (3rd District), in partnership with East Side Civic Association, and The HELP Initiative, Inc, will hold a “Light Up the Eastside” event to install over 300 new LED lights to residents with outdoor fixtures.
Light Up the Eastside is designed to improve public safety by providing residents in high-risk places for criminal behavior during nighttime areas within the City of Wilmington with Dusk to Dawn Energy Efficient LED lights for their front porches. Charles Kistler, Executive Director at HELP Initiative, will administer the collaborative effort and provide education and awareness about how residents can reduce energy consumption in their homes.
Council Member Zanthia Oliver is sponsoring the event in an effort to ensure that residents within the third district have LED lights outfitted within their neighborhoods, and to beautify and create safer neighborhoods. Residents are asked to be available and in their homes between the hours of 10am to 3pm.

Where: LED Light Installations will begin at Clifford Brown Walk Street and will continue to Church Street.
