An Ordinance to Amend Chapter 2 of the City Code to Create a Procedure Whereby Residents May Petition the Department of Public Works to Conduct Traffic Studies and Install Traffic Calming Devices
Synopsis: This Ordinance is being presented by City Council for Council’s review and approval. This Ordinance permits twenty-five (25) or more residents of a designated census tract to submit a petition to the Commissioner of the Department of Public Works, or their designee, indicating residential street traffic issues that substantially affect the livability and safety of the community and requires the Commissioner of the Department of Public Works, or their designee, to conduct a traffic study when certain requirements are satisfied.

Synopsis: This Resolution is being presented by City Council for Council’s review and approval. This Resolution amends Resolution No. 20-080 as amended, to modify the date of submission for the findings and recommendations of the City Council Taskforce to study and develop reparation proposals for African Americans, with a special consideration for African Americans who are descendants of persons enslaved in the United States, or the “Taskforce,” to January 6, 2024, 180 days from the Taskforce’s first open meeting on July 10, 2023.
