Nominations are Open for the 16th Annual Wilmington Awards
The City of Wilmington is soliciting nominations for two separate and distinct awards—the 16th Annual Wilmington Awards and the Access Wilmington Awards.
The Access Wilmington Awards recognize individuals in Wilmington who help to open doors and create opportunities for people living with disabilities and their families. The program recognizes individuals in the categories of accessibility to the arts, accessibility to resources, community involvement, and employment/business ownership by and for the disabled.
The Wilmington Awards program recognizes outstanding accomplishments of Wilmington citizens who excel in the fields of the arts, athletics, business, education, environment, and health or science. It also recognizes individuals for their community service, heroism, contributions to the faith community, and dedication to the cause of human and civil rights. Senior citizens will also be recognized for their life-long accomplishments. Also, as part of the Wilmington Awards, the Thomas L. Cottingham Good Samaritan Award will be presented to an individual who has performed superior acts of bravery and kindness.
