Alexander D. Hackett is a lifelong Wilmington native, proudly born and raised in the heart of the city. The son of Tiffany Hackett and William Jackson, he grew up with a strong community and a commitment to service. These values have shaped his career and continue to drive his passion for uplifting Wilmington’s residents.
A graduate of Delcastle Technical High School with a concentration in Carpentry, Alexander went on to earn his Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Delaware State University, becoming the first in his family to graduate from college. During his time at DSU, Alexander received numerous accolades, including being named Residential Assistant of the Year in 2015, Mister Senior for the Class of 2016, and receiving the Ernest E. Just Undergraduate Award. He also became a proud member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc., and founded The God Brothers, further deepening his commitment to leadership and service.
After graduation, Alexander began his career in finance at PNC Financial Group, where he quickly advanced to the role of campus recruiter, championing diversity in hiring practices. Motivated by a desire to give back to his community, Alexander transitioned into education as a teacher at Kuumba Academy Charter School in Wilmington. This role deepened his understanding of the challenges faced by students and families in the city and reinforced his commitment to creating opportunities for the next generation.
Building on his experience in education and community engagement, Alexander went on to serve as a Staff Assistant for United States Senator Tom Carper. In this role, he supported legislative initiatives and worked to connect underserved communities with federal resources. He later joined the Economic Development Administration as a Confidential Assistant, helping to deploy billions of dollars in grants to communities across the country.
Determined to make a difference locally, Alexander co-founded Community Staffing Agency (CSA) in 2022, a business dedicated to connecting schools with high-quality educational staff. Under his leadership, CSA has grown to serve multiple charter and public schools across Delaware and beyond.
Alexander’s professional accomplishments have been widely recognized. In 2023, he was named one of Delaware Business Times’ Top 40 Under 40 Achievers and Innovators, celebrating his leadership and impact. He was also awarded the Change Agent of the Year by the National Sorority of Phi Delta Kappa, Inc., the Linda A.
