VINCENT M. WHITE
1st District Council Member
Vincent is a lifelong resident of the city, having grown up in the Eastside and Southbridge communities. Vincent has a demonstrated record of community involvement since high school. He was a founding board member of the Henrietta Johnson Medical Center and the Southbridge Community Action Association. Vincent is a long-serving member of the Northwest Civic Association and the First District Planning Council.
Vincent has over 25 years of commercial and residential real estate. He is an ethical, strategic, innovative thinker and instructor with abundant knowledge and experience in the real estate industry. Throughout his career, he has championed the rights of the first-time homebuyer, including coordinating the first City-Wide Open House and waiver of the transfer tax for first-time home buyers within the city, and increased funding to preserve and increase affordable housing production.
Vincent was the first African American President of the New Castle Board and the Delaware Association of Realtors and served as the CEO of the Delaware Association of Realtors. He is a three-time Realtor of the Year awardee and a proud recipient of the New Castle Board of Realtors Mel Stout Ethics award.
He is the founding board member and President of the National Association of Real Estate Brokers, an equal opportunity and civil rights advocacy organization for African American real estate brokers, consumers, and communities in America.
In his role as President/CEO of Provest Commercial Realty and the Delaware Affordable Housing Group Inc, a multi-family asset holder and real estate development service corporation, he is responsible for outreach to community-based organizations, contract negotiations, and partnership development. Provest Realty was selected as one of the top 100 SBA small businesses in the Mid-Atlantic Region.
Vincent has served as a gubernatorial appointee to the Delaware Council on Housing and Wilmington Delaware Housing Authority. Vincent White holds the following designations: Delaware Real Estate Broker; Approved Delaware/Pennsylvania Real Estate Instructor and designated a fair housing subject matter expert by Dearborn, Person VUE publishers.
Vincent was one of three nationwide recognized as a “Home Town Hero” by the National Association of Realtors for increasing the diversity and inclusion of minorities in the industry.
