Council President Gregory Applauds the City’s New Real Time Crime Center
Goal is a more coordinated approach to preventing and solving crimes
Wilmington City Council President Theo Gregory offered the following comment today after attending the opening ceremony for Wilmington’s new Real Time Crime Center:
“I applaud the efforts of the Mayor and the Wilmington Police Department to bring the new Real Time Crime Center online. I also want to thank the Delaware General Assembly for its continuing support of our City and of our efforts to reduce crime. The State and City must always work together to help solidify Wilmington’s position as the State’s center of commerce. We should all be united as never before in providing the men and women of our police department with the latest tools they need to do the work of protecting and defending citizens. The new crime center has the potential to move us forward with new systems and techniques for preventing crime, detecting criminal behaviors and resolving criminal activities. I am excited about the results that could come from the crime center and I urge the Administration to remain on track as it continues to develop the center to its fullest potential. The Council and public, I am sure, are eager to be kept abreast of the accomplishments that will emanate from the crime center. Our prayers are for a safer City and our hopes rest on the competence of our police officers and the use of new technologies they will have available to work with the community to fight crime.”
