Delmarva Power and the Wilmington Police Department meet to Discuss Key Topics Impacting Utility Billing and Public Safety in the Local Community.
Wilmington, DE – In response to growing frustration and financial strain caused by rising Delmarva Power bills, Council Members Zanthia Oliver (3rd District) and Michelle Harlee (4th District) are taking action. They are partnering with the East Side Civic Association to host a critical community meeting on Wednesday, February 19, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Stubbs Elementary School, 1100 N. Pine Street, Wilmington, DE.
The meeting will feature Delmarva Power representatives, who will provide transparency on rising delivery fees and explain billing structures that have left many residents struggling to keep up. Additionally, the Wilmington Police Department will address key public safety concerns affecting the community.
“Our hardworking families have been burdened with skyrocketing energy costs that make it nearly impossible to keep the lights on. We hear you, and we stand with you,” said Councilwoman Zanthia Oliver. “No average-income family should receive a doubled utility bill. It’s time for answers.”
This meeting is a call to action for residents who want to voice their frustrations, demand accountability, and seek solutions. It is also an opportunity to connect with neighbors, learn about available resources, and gain insights into local government initiatives designed to support the community.
Light refreshments will be served.
The East Side Civic Association is dedicated to advocating for neighborhood improvements, public safety, and overall quality of life for Wilmington residents. Council Members Zanthia Oliver and Michelle Harlee are committed to providing resources and fostering community engagement to address the concerns of their constituents.
