Tomorrow’s City Council meeting rescheduled to Thursday, February 28th

WILMINGTON– At the request of numerous members of City Council and due to their unexpected professional conflicts to attend tomorrow’s regularly scheduled meeting, President Hanifa Shabazz has agreed to reschedule the Wilmington City Council meeting to February 28.

“Several items on the agenda are the culmination of weeks and months of work, debates and public engagement on the part of City Council,” said President Shabazz. “I want to ensure all members of City Council have the opportunity to be part of the process to see these matters resolved.”

Among the items listed on the meeting’s agenda are the approval of the Resolution for City Council to fill the vacancy in the First City Council District, as well as, the presentation an Ordinance to approve and authorize the Public Access and Leased Access Management Agreement.

“Proceeding with the deliberations on these high-profile issues without the participation of as many members of City Council as possible would not be in the best interest of our constituents,” said President Shabazz. “I want to make sure our decisions on these matters are all-inclusive.”

The rescheduled council meeting will take place next Thursday at 6:30 p.m., inside Council Chambers at the Louis L. Redding City/County Building. The building is located at 800 N. French Street, Wilmington, DE 19801
